Kamp Velebit is not a base for activities. It is a place from which activities naturally emerge.

There is no checklist here, no program to follow, and no pressure to “make the most of your time.” What people do around here depends on weather, light, energy, curiosity — and sometimes on doing nothing at all.

That said, this landscape is not empty. Quite the opposite.

Below are things that happen naturally when you stay here — starting with what’s closest, slowest, and most obvious, and moving outward only where it still makes sense.

Before doing anything ambitious, it’s worth knowing your quiet guardian angel: the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS). They are very competent. Try not to meet them professionally.
